Episode #49

To download this show's episode just scroll all the way down past the album art!

Nappyroots has always kept it real and that's why I love them. This is a bangin' album with some great music and quality rappin'. Check it out at Nappyroots.com!

I love exotic music and Beats Antique is a group I happened upon by accident and just loved their music from the start. They remind me of Niyaz but funkier, and they add so many wonderful flavors to their music. Check them out at BeatsAntique.com.

BT is my heart. I will always love BT and have done so for years. His music is so beautiful, polished and smooth. This is a wonderful album and I'll be playing more from this double album on urban Outside shows in the future! BTMusic.com is where you can find it.

Episode #48 - New Albums!

Here's this week's episode. Download show now!

~ ALBUM REVIEWS ~

I have a couple of album reviews that I'm bringing to you today. The first is Layers by R&B /Electronic artist Minh. Released on the Jayden Records label, Minh's music is both smooth and soulful yet futuristic modern. His style reminds me of Maxwell with a soulful, sensuous style and the beautiful and layered electronic sound reminiscent of BT. Some favorite tracks of mine are Fresh and Star. Layers will be released on November 23rd, 2010. You can preview tracks on the album at the artist's website and the Jayden Records label website. His past works have been used in films and tv shows, with a song on the upcoming Layers album already licensed to the indie film Herman & Shelly. His music from his previous works are available on iTunes. Check him out!

Love Darling is another independent band whose music has been featured in television media, as a theme song for the TV show "The Real L Word" on Showtime. Many have said that their musical style channel's groups like The Smashing Pumpkins and the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs. Well, I'm going to add two more rock groups that I like that their style reminds me of: The Dandy Warhols and The Donnas. They can be edgy, hard driving, fun and bluesy all at the same time and their latest album Sunshine Dust is one of those albums that you can sit down and listen to it all the way through. However some of my favorites on this album are Cadence and Dust In My Pocket. Love Darling rocks! You can find out about their music, touring information, media and more at their website and you can buy their music directly from them there as well. Check out Sunshine Dust and also their previous album Pawnshop Radio ON. Check them out!

Playlist:
1. Big Dreamers - Static Selektah Ft. Reks
2. Mr Opto Mystic - Autolect
3. Star - Minh
4. Don't Wanna leave - Minh

Break: Album reviews for independent R&B artist Minh an indie rock band Love Darling. Music playing in background is "Beng Beng" by Ministry of Sound Ft. Femi Kuti.

5. Cadence - Love Darling
6. Dust In My Pockets - Love Darling

Remember to always support independent artists! Enjoy the show!

Anyway I am really excited to showcase Jive Ass Sleepers, one of my new favorite artists!
The first few songs are from his second album, New Jazz Galaxy:

1. Funk In A New Galaxy

Interesting side note: I first found out about Jive Ass Sleepers from a podcast I listen to called Snapecast - a great podcast. If you like Harry potter check it out however be forewarned - they are VERY SERIOUS SNAPE fans.
